Who does not know Villasimius?
Villasimius is a famous tourist destination of Sardinia South Eastern surrounded by beaches, unspoilt coastline and through what is called the Polynesia of the Mediterranean. The territory has an area of 56 sq km: northern boundary is Mount Minniminni (m.725), the East is made up from 'Serpentera Island, that lies on the western slopes of Capo Boi. Coastal development is about 32 km and is made important by the presence of the Cape peninsula culminating with Carbonara and above that of the two islands. Villasimius with D.M. 15 September 1998, became part of 'Marine Protected Area with the aim to protect, preserve and enhance the natural resources of the marine and coastal environment, and finally promoting sustainable socio-economic development with the environment. A Villasimius you can also enjoy excellent local produce, the cuisine of Sardinia, with roasted piglet, kid and lamb, side of sausage such as prosciutto, salami, olives and a variety of cheeses, as well as the tasting of grilled fish roast.
It produces various sweets such as macaroons, the formagelle, the Sebadas and different varieties of honey and excellent local wines. |
